A new residential neighbourhood is being built in the immediate vicinity of the Travepromenade, reviving the charm of the old fishing harbour and making it accessible to the public. The approximately 18,000 square metre construction project places great emphasis on preserving the maritime flair and blends harmoniously into the existing harbour landscape. Particular emphasis is placed on a balanced mix of housing, services and tourist attractions in order to preserve and enrich the unique atmosphere of the harbour.
Attractive residential area and commercial units
The neighbourhood, consisting of 12 buildings with two underground car parks, which extend under blocks A-G and H-L, offers an attractive residential location. Particularly noteworthy is House L, which exclusively accommodates holiday flats, while the ground floor of the buildings houses commercial units. The site area of around 16,767 m² is being managed by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø as general contractor with comprehensive services for construction, planning, creation of outdoor facilities and development.
Challenges during the construction work on the waterfront
The construction work on the water posed particular challenges for the team: Strong sea winds required a reduced use of scaffolding banners and protective tarpaulins. In addition, the construction process had to be adapted to the peak tourist season in order to minimise the backlog to the ferry and overcome the delivery difficulties. The tides and the high water season from March to September required careful planning and the ability to react quickly to high water, which fortunately occurs 24 hours in advance. Good contact with the local fishermen, who provided early warning of impending flooding, and the use of media water level forecasts made it possible to take timely safety measures such as the laying of sandbags.
